Founded in 2021, ROU builds on the strong legacy of Abjadiya Academy, which began in 2011 in Nasr City, Cairo, under the leadership of Dr. Ismael Abdellah Salamah. Originally established as a center for Arabic, Islamic, and other academic fields, Abjadiya Academy partnered in 2013 with the Saleh Kamel Center of Al-Azhar University to offer diploma programs.
Today, ROU continues that vision by offering open and distance-learning programs designed to help students pursue their academic goals with simplicity and flexibility — whether they study fully online or through local ROU-appointed tutorial centers.
